Mose's Speaking Essay: Change the last two chapters of The Black Pearl.
The Manta Diablo swam by once more, just out of reach, and made a circle and came back. The Sevillano took up the harpoon and he threw it at the Manta Diablo. But suddenly, the Manta Diablo swatted the harpoon with his strong, thick tail and the harpoon incidentally drilled the Sevillano's heart and Sevillano soon died. And I was so happy that Sevillano had died. Then I took the Pearl and the sharp knife from the Sevillano's belt, and put it in my pocket. And the Manta Diablo went to Mexico with me. It took five days to get there. During that time, I tamed the Manta Diablo and we became friends. So I rode the Manta instead of the boat. Anyway, when I arrived in Mexico, I went to a famous auction room, and all of the people wanted to buy my Great Black Pearl. Finally, Karlos Slim , the world famouos rich man, who lives in Mexico, bought it for 15 million Pesos. I was so happy and I now sailed for the La Paz with my Manta. When I arrived in La Paz, I had my father's funeral with my money. However, one day a very sad thing happened. Soto Luzon's superstitious curse came true. A flood came to my town. My Manta got struck by lightening so he went mad. He killed every person that he saw. It possible because the town sank. I was floating too but I ws a roof of the church. I raised my hand to grab the edge and I could reach it. I hardly got on the top of the church's roof. The water ws up to my waist. I took the knife from my pocket. I decided to will my poor Manta Diablo because he could also kill my mother. I threw it at the Manta very strongly, but he hit the knife away and the knife incidentally drilled my heart, and I soon died, like the Sevillano. I was alive for 2 minutes and 34 seconds more. I was all the people being killed by Manta Diablo. I was sad. It was a terrible thing. And I finally died.

The letter to the editor states that the school should renovate the student center cafeteria because it's too crowded and doesn't have enough room for students both to eat and study in. The woman ddisagrees with the writer of the letter. First, she claims that the students don't all have to eat at the cafeteria. For example, she mentiones that there are many eateries around caompus and even tells the male student that she has seen him eating at a cafe elsewhere on campus. In addition, she claims that the Student Center is always too noisy anywaay so it's fairly useless for the students to study there. She mentions that becasue of all the people chatting there, the Student Center is a bad study environment. She claims that the school should renovate the library, not the cafeteria, to enable students to study better.
